To meet satisfactory requirements for ASHA CEUs or to receive a certificate, participants must:
- Attend for the entire length of the course
- Participate throughout the course
- Complete the Texas Technology Access Program ASHA Certificate Request Form at the beginning of the course
- Complete an assessment at the end of the course
- All required components must be completed within 48 hours of the end of the offered course. Requirements completed after this time cannot be accepted.

Intro to AT: Empowering Independence with Assistive Technology
Description
This session provides teachers and education staff with a practical overview of assistive technology (AT) and how it can be used to support students with diverse learning needs. Participants will explore a range of low-tech to high-tech tools that enhance communication, learning, and daily functioning, while increasing student independence across educational environments. The session emphasizes the importance of considering individual strengths, needs, and contexts when selecting tools and supports, and includes real-world examples and strategies for integrating AT into instruction. Attendees will also gain insight into the processes of AT consideration, evaluation, implementation, and ongoing support to help ensure meaningful participation and success for students.
